Belloc, (Joseph-Pierre) Hilaire
(27 jul. 1870, La Celle-Saint-Cloud, Francia–16 jul. 1953, Guildford, Surrey, Inglaterra).

Poeta, historiador, apologista católico y ensayista británico de origen francés. Escritor de gran versatilidad, es recordado principalmente por su poesía sencilla, en particular la que escribió para los niños, y por sus lúcidos y elegantes ensayos. Sus obras incluyen Verses and Sonnets [Versos y sonetos] (1895), The Bad Child's Book of Beasts [El bestiario del niño malo] (1896), The Modern Traveller [El viajero moderno] (1898), Emmanuel Burden (1904) y Cuentos prudentes (1907). También escribió varios libros de historia, entre los que se destaca su History of England [Historia de Inglaterra] (1925–31, 4 vol.).
